The area around Mt Best
is known not only for high rainfall but also for notorious strong
winds.
Inside the aerodynamic RAL
building it is quiet, even when the wind speed approaches 200
km/h.
1 kW wind turbine, installed at a nearby hill (top left on the
picture below), aided by a few solar panels, seems to provide enough energy to
make us energy self-sufficient.
