Guitar string load balancing

Increase in sound projection of modern classical guitars can be achieved by thinning guitar tops and their bracing, resulting in more flexible (and also more fragile) soundboard membranes. This article describes a way to prevent thin and fragile guitar tops from bending due to static string load.

Born in Poland in 1951, Dr Chalko holds a Masters degree in Engineering (since 1975) and a PhD in Laser Holography (since 1979). He has been a resident of Australia since 1982.
